MERCEDES VANAPALOOZA : AN ANIMATED HISTORY OF THE VAN

The van was invented over 100 years ago by two Germans looking for ways to transport beer and to this day Cub Studio thanks them for this invention!

To help celebrate this boxy hero Cub Studio were approached by Tiny Toy Car & Mercedes to produce an animated promotional video, titled Vanapalooza.

A trusty van delivered some coffee/snacks/beer to the office and we set about recalling iconic vans that have appeared on TV, in films and had played a big part of our lives.

With the help of Tiny Toy Car & Mercedes we locked down specific Mercedes models to ensure authenticity, whilst Cub worked collaboratively to create an engaging script, treatment, style frames and finally animated tests.

Due to work commitments we weren’t able to animate the final version of the animation, so this was handed over to Pluto who did a brilliant job in bringing our ideas to life.
